Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of translation experience within the past ten years.
• Qualifying scores ILR 4 minimum or equivalent on language tests.
• Must have lived 3 of the last 5 years in the U.S.
• At least 1 year of experience with a law enforcement or legal department.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Familiarity with various modes of communication in both languages.
• Knowledge of Government-related vocabulary and terminology.
• Ability to write fluently in their native language.
• Translate accurately without omissions or additions.
• Preserve the tone and register of source materials.
• Abide by relevant code of linguist ethics.
• Proficiency in using Computer-Assisted Translation tools.
