Job summary

Splitwise is hiring for a mid-level or senior Growth role based in Providence with remote options. You will build backend services used by millions, help new users join and existing users stay engaged, and drive revenue growth for Splitwise Pro.

You will run and interpret experiments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor peers. A 4-year degree in CS/SE or equivalent experience is expected. Hybrid HQ in Providence with annual off-site gatherings is described.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Comfort with Ruby on Rails and willingness to write basic Ruby code in interview.
• Ability to dissect SQL queries and analyze data with peers.
• Experience running experiments, interpreting results, and communicating findings.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain back-end services used by millions.
• Drive engagement by making it easy for new users to join and keep existing users active.
• Improve the feature set and conversion of Splitwise Pro.
• Launch and analyze A/B tests, iterating on Core and Pro improvements.
• Collaborate with product, design, data, and mobile teams.
• Identify opportunities to reduce tech debt and improve code quality.
• Balance user friction with value to sustain long-term health.
• Mentor senior peers and lead architectural discussions for growth initiatives.
