Job summary

Planned Parenthood California Central Coast seeks a Community Organizer to advance advocacy, grassroots campaigns, and local outreach across Santa Maria and surrounding areas. You will work with community partners, volunteers, and donors to engage residents in local health and policy initiatives.

The role focuses on organizing events, recruiting volunteers, coordinating phone banks, canvassing, and representing PPCCC at health fairs and community events, with part-time schedule (20 hours/week)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years related experience.
• 1–2 years in field/community organizing strongly preferred.
• Prior experience with campaign work and grassroots organizing strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, including writing and public speaking.
• Willingness and ability to work remotely and evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage a field organizing program and coordinate grassroots advocacy campaigns to grow PPCCC supporters.
• Recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers and key legislative supporters regionally.
• Manage grant-funded programs with strategic planning, reporting, and deadlines.
• Support coordination and implementation of Patient Advocacy Programs.
• Coordinate and develop student organizations at local colleges/universities.
• Collect data and report on constituents and program outcomes using affiliate tools.
• Link local issues with regional, state, and national advocacy.
