Job summary

Planned Parenthood California Central Coast is seeking a part-time Community Organizer to advance local advocacy and grassroots campaigns in Santa Maria and surrounding areas.

You will recruit volunteers, coordinate events, manage grant-related tasks, and partner with community groups to advance reproductive health equity. The role requires bilingual Spanish/English ability and occasional evening/weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years in field/community organizing strongly preferred.
• Experience with campaign work and advocacy preferred.
• Fluent Spanish language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage a field organizing program and coordinate grassroots advocacy campaigns.
• Recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers and key supporters in the region.
• Manage grant-funded programs, reporting, and deadlines.
• Support coordination of Patient Advocacy Programs and community outreach.
• Coordinate student organizations at local colleges/universities.
• Collect data and report on constituents and outcomes using affiliate tools.
