Job summary

Harvard University is seeking a Financial Analyst I in the Office for Sponsored Programs within Financial Administration. This primarily remote role offers flexibility to work on-site occasionally and a standard 35-hour work week.

Responsibilities include interpreting complex financial terms, scheduling invoices, and producing financial reports in GMAS. The position emphasizes accounts receivable collection and collaboration across sponsors and university offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 3+ years of direct accounting, financial management, data analysis, and/or grants management experience.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a principal source of information for interpreting complex financial terms and conditions within sponsored agreements.
• Accurately records financial deliverable schedules and related information in GMAS.
• Produces timely and accurate invoices and financial reports based on sponsor deadlines.
• Analyzes financial data to identify potential risks and issues and proposes solutions.
• Works within the team and across Research Finance to update and develop business processes and identify best practices.
• Liaise effectively with sponsors, school financial offices, academic departments, pre-award offices, and central finance units.
• Provides backfill support for peers during busy periods and assists with training and projects.
