Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking an experienced Grants Budget Specialist to support the pre-award lifecycle, develop accurate proposal budgets, and ensure compliance with sponsor requirements.

You will collaborate with faculty, leadership, and administrative staff to translate research ideas into competitive budgets and timely submissions. The role is primarily remote with occasional on-campus meetings at least once a month and participation in in-person activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
• Certifications /Professional Licenses: No specific certification/professional license is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-award duties in response to proposal guidelines and terms.
• Works with faculty in proposal preparation and submission.
• Manages budgeting, analysis, and justifications for proposals; gathers information for protocols and non-technical proposal components.
• Stays current on federal and university developments regarding research administration and complex regulations.
• Coordinates with the Post-Award unit to ensure timely implementation of contracts and subcontracts.
