Job summary

Marshall University School of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time remote grant writer for the West Virginia Grant Resource Centers. The role supports local governments, nonprofits, and other eligible applicants with project development, grant identification, and technical writing to strengthen economic development in West Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Two years of grant-writing experience preferred.
• Experience with budgets and reporting is a plus.
• Experience with federal, state, or private funders is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide grant-writing technical assistance to eligible applicants, including outlining funding opportunities, compiling checklists, drafting project narratives, and developing budgets.
• Identify and interpret relevant funding opportunities for client projects.
• Develop materials that aid the proposal development process: templates for project narratives and letters of support, summaries of notices of funding, letters of intent, and related correspondence.
• Support clients with project development by defining scope of work and project goals, objectives, and outcomes, ensuring alignment with the funding opportunity.
• Manage proposal package preparation and guide eligible entities through the submission process.
• Facilitate meetings, seminars, and workshops on grant writing and project development, and liaise with federal agencies and private foundations.
• Assist eligible applicants in completing grant application forms for federal agencies and foundations, and uploading required documents into submission sites (e.g., grants.gov).
• Maintain meeting records, project files, and other documentation needed for project management and reporting.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director or Principal Investigator.
