Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Government Affairs professional to monitor state and federal legislation, analyze regulatory trends, and advise on strategic responses to support corporate objectives. The role emphasizes compliance and shaping public policy to align with business goals.

You will build relationships with government officials, track developments, prepare briefing materials for leadership, and collaborate with legal and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Business, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field
• Deep understanding of federal and state level legislative and regulatory processes
• Experience utilizing state and federal legislative tracking systems
• Strong political acumen and strategic thinking
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Experience with Political Action Committees and fundraising
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Ability to generate state and legislative tracking reports for management and executive leadership

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze proposed legislation, regulations and policy trends at the state and federal levels
• Develop and maintain relationships with key government officials, agencies and industry associations
• Coordinate and support interactions and events with federal, state and local officials
• Develop and implement strategies to influence public policy in alignment with corporate goals
• Prepare position papers, reports, presentations and briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders
• Represent the company at public hearings, legislative sessions, and industry forums
• Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and operational teams to assess the impact of proposed policies
• Track and report on legislative developments and provide timely updates to leadership
• Ensure compliance with lobbying disclosure and ethics regulations
• Assist with PAC administration and employee solicitation efforts
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
