Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is hiring a Governance Engineer II for a remote role. You will translate enterprise policies into automated governance across APIs, data, security and responsible AI, building guardrails and self‑service tooling for secure, scalable access.

You’ll partner with security, data, and engineering teams to operationalize policy without overreach. The role supports a remote‑first culture across the United States (excluding Hawaii and Alaska), focusing on automation, lifecycle

Qualifications

• 2+ years in software engineering, API development, or platform engineering.
• Experience with REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, and API lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and governance‑as‑code.
• Familiarity with API security concepts (OAuth, authentication, authorization, least‑privilege).
• Experience with Postman, SwaggerHub, API catalogs or developer portals.

Responsibilities

• Review API specifications and data contracts for alignment with enterprise standards.
• Translate policies into implementable standards, controls and reusable patterns.
• Promote consistent API design, data definitions and access patterns.
• Maintain governance artifacts and reference implementations.
• Track compliance, adoption and remediation across engineering teams.
• Establish guardrails for AI agents accessing APIs and data.
• Implement controls for agent identity, authentication and least‑privilege access.
• Define practices for agent evaluations, traceability and monitoring.
• Collaborate with security, architecture, data and responsible AI teams.
