Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Governance Engineer II to transform governance policies into automated, secure engineering solutions. You will build governance-as-code, reusable patterns, and guardrails that let APIs and AI agents access enterprise data safely.

You will partner with security, data, architecture, and engineering to automate compliance, monitor lifecycle, and provide self-service tooling that enables responsible innovation across API and AI lifecycles.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in software engineering, API development, or related field.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting REST APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Experience implementing engineering controls in CI/CD pipelines (testing, API validation, security scanning).
• Knowledge of API security concepts (OAuth, authentication, authorization, least-privilege).
• Experience with governance tools like Postman, SwaggerHub, API catalogs and developer portals.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering and governance for AI-enabled solutions.
• Strong scripting/programming skills to translate governance requirements into automation.

Responsibilities

• Turn enterprise policies into implementable API and data governance standards.
• Develop governance-as-code, reusable components, and guardrails for APIs and AI agents.
• Automate compliance, approvals, and lifecycle management across teams.
• Collaborate with security, architecture, data, and engineering to enforce policy.
• Onboard APIs to catalogs and governance platforms and enable self-service tooling.
• Monitor governance adoption, track exceptions, and drive remediation.
