Aptar Italia S.P.A. is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Intern to support the team in auditing U.S. import transactions, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and internal procedures.

This 3-6 month internship is remote from anywhere in the US, requiring about 24 hours per week in summer and 10-15 hours per week during the school year; ideal for students pursuing International Business or related fields with attention to detail and interest in AI tools.

Qualifications

• College degree in progress or completed.
• Interest in international trade, customs compliance, or import/export operations.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Interest and basic knowledge of Generative AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Request and collect import documentation from internal and external stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Perform audits of U.S. import entries by reviewing customs declarations against supporting documentation, including invoices and shipping records.
• Verify the accuracy of key customs data elements, including: Customs value, Country of origin, Country of export, HS/HTS classifications, Quantities and units of measure.
• Identify and flag significant discrepancies, inconsistencies, or potential compliance concerns for review by the GTC team.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify documentation and resolve information gaps.
