Job summary

RTX is seeking a Supplier Development Lead to drive supplier recovery, capability improvement, and sustainable performance across global commodities. This hands-on, cross-functional role supports containment, supplier assessments, and structured improvement plans with clear milestones.

The SDL collaborates with Operations, Quality, and Engineering and travels up to 50% to supplier sites, guiding readiness for new programs and long-term supplier excellence.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 7+ years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5+ years of experience.
• Ability to travel to supplier sites as needed - approximately 50% of time.
• Experience in Electronics commodities (PWB, PCBA, Components, Modules and Distributors).
• Experience in Supplier Management, Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence methodologies.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience leading supplier recovery, industrialization, or work transfer projects.
• Experience in a global matrix organization.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access).

Responsibilities

• Containment & Recovery: Lead containment actions with Operations and Quality; RCCA investigations; monitor KPIs; escalate issues to crisis mode when warranted.
• Supplier Development & Capability Building: Identify supplier sites, perform readiness assessments, and develop improvement roadmaps tied to maturity models.
• Transition Management & Leadership: Support supplier transitions and sustainment, align with internal units; execute APQP for new product launches.
