Job summary

Migration Policy Institute's Global Program in Washington, D.C. seeks an Associate Policy Analyst to conduct rigorous empirical research and comparative analysis on migration policy topics. Qualifications

• Master’s degree plus 3–5 years of direct experience (or equivalent).
• Strong research and analytical skills with ability to handle large data from multiple sources.
• Knowledge of international migration trends; experience with Africa, Latin America, or Europe preferred.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to present data clearly.
• High motivation, ability to juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn across policy areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-depth policy analysis with interpretations and actionable recommendations.
• Draft and edit background notes, analytical reports, and policy briefs under tight deadlines.
• Co-author MPI publications and contribute to policy briefs as experience grows.
• Assist senior staff with fundraising and grant management tasks, including proposals and reports.
• Organize high-level roundtables and private meetings, including agendas and speaker briefings.
• Engage with the news media over time, supporting outreach as appropriate.
