Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking an experienced accounting supervisor to lead a team of Accountants in preparing and reviewing monthly Financial Statements for condominium and homeowners associations. This remote role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance within department policies.

You will guide analysis, oversee audits with third-party firms, and provide insightful reporting to support financial leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of five years of general ledger accounting experience; supervisory experience is a plus.
• CAM license; CPA certification a plus; prior experience in property management, real estate, or residential management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily functions of the assigned team, ensure processes followed and quality standards.
• Ensure timeliness and deadlines are met; communicate with team, peers, leadership and operations to meet client expectations.
• Prioritize, track and review accountants’ work and monitor quality control of all transactions.
• Provide direction and assist in investigation/resolution of internal and external issues; follow up on outstanding items.
• Communicate potential issues affecting accuracy of financial statements in a timely manner.
• Provide ongoing training to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, procedures and deadlines.
• Manage performance: set goals, conduct evaluations, coach, and document actions with leadership.
• Assist independent CPA audit firm in audits and year-end entries; analyze and post adjusting entries.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting by researching and interpreting data to answer accounting questions.
