Job summary

Topstep LLC in Chicago, IL seeks a GL Accountant to support monthly close across lease accounting, expense processing, and bank transaction uploads. You will work closely with the GL Manager to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with close deadlines.

The role offers hybrid work with a collaborative team focused on NetSuite and ASC 842. A base salary of $75,000–$85,000 plus potential bonus is provided, with growth opportunities within a growing finance function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience with month-end close exposure.
• Familiarity with ASC 842 lease accounting, preferred.
• Experience with Emburse expense management, preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP, preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Maintain lease schedules and prepare monthly journal entries.
• Reconcile right-of-use asset and lease liability accounts monthly.
• Process and review employee expense reports and code correctly.
• Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and ensure timely posting.
• Prepare bank transaction uploads and ensure timely coding and posting.
• Prepare reconciliations and close tasks; maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Identify control gaps and support process improvements.
