Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a GIS Specialist II to coordinate, prepare, and process GIS information for the company’s gas distribution system. The role involves creating and editing digital maps, maintaining databases and metadata, and ensuring accurate records while supporting replacement programs and reporting needs.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a similar GIS role, strong knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcCatalog, and excellent communication skills.

Formación

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of work experience in a similar GIS role.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and ability to perform edits/updates to mapping system.
• Knowledge of ArcCatalog and ESRI geodatabase format.
• Familiar with materials, software, and equipment used for drafting, surveying, construction and electronic mapping.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong record-keeping skills.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate, prepare, and process GIS information for Chesapeake Utilities.
• Edit and maintain GIS maps, databases, layers, and metadata.
• Integrate asset management programs into GIS.
• Develop QA procedures, standards, and protocols.
• Archive digital media and source materials appropriately.
• Communicate production-related concerns to supervisor.
• Prepare and update digital base map data for geospatial applications.
• Contribute to DOT/PHMSA reporting as needed.
• Support distribution system operations and other duties as assigned.
