BairesDev is seeking a GIS-focused Software Engineer to design and implement geospatial features across maps and location services. You will work remotely on cutting-edge mapping projects that impact diverse clients worldwide.

This role emphasizes Mapbox and Leaflet expertise, with a strong focus on data security, API integrations, and scalable visualizations, while offering flexible hours and remote collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on GIS or Geospatial applications.
Experience developing mapping and location-based features using Mapbox or Google Maps APIs.
Proficiency in building custom map visualizations and location services with Leaflet.
Strong understanding of geospatial data structures and API integrations.
Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

Design and implement interactive, customizable maps using Mapbox and Google Maps APIs.
Develop and maintain location-based features such as geocoding, routing, and search autocomplete.
Build high-performance map visualizations and data overlays using Leaflet and Mapbox GL JS.
Optimize map rendering and interactivity for a seamless user experience across web and mobile platforms.
Integrate real-time geospatial data streams into mapping applications to provide live updates and insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mapping standards and ensure data accuracy and security.
