Job summary

ABB is seeking a GIS Commissioning Engineer to lead Siemens-style GIS and RMU system commissioning for medium-voltage projects. You will develop work plans, estimates, risk assessments, and procedures, while coordinating with customers, EPCs, utilities, and ABB teams on site.

The role emphasizes hands-on commissioning, FAT/IFAT support, and mentoring junior engineers, with remote work in the United States and substantial travel.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in commissioning and field engineering.
• Strong ABB GIS and RMU experience with IEEE/IEC/ANSI standards.
• Familiar with ABB Protection & Control platforms and generator paralleling.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of ABB GIS and RMU systems per standards and specs.
• Create work plans, cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and MOPs.
• Support execution through energization and customer acceptance.
• Assist FAT/IFAT processes and interface with customers and ABB teams.
• Travel to sites, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical input.
