Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a GIS Analyst (Finance) based in Buffalo, NY to support natural resources projects with GIS analysis, data management in cloud environments, and technical reporting.

The role involves working with Azure cloud infrastructure, Python and JavaScript code, and collaboration with senior staff on multiple projects. Some overtime and occasional in-person visits to offices may be required.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S in Geosciences, Geography, GIS, or similar field.
• 5+ years of experience in GIS applicable role that required GIS to be used more than 50% of the work week.
• 1+ year Azure Cloud experience.
• Basic working knowledge of computer science and its application to Python, JavaScript, and git repo management.
• A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Support GIS analysis, mapping, and data management in a cloud system.
• Produce technical reports and figures for permits and environmental documentation.
• Assist with environmental surveys, reporting, and permitting processes.
• Coordinate with project managers and senior staff to support multiple projects.
• Identify and download spatial data sources for natural resources projects.
