Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a full-time Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist to support diverse environmental and disaster management projects from the Duluth, GA office. The role involves geospatial data management, map/graphics creation, data analysis, and development of web-based mapping tools in a collaborative consulting setting.

You will work with GIS staff, data managers, and project managers across the company, delivering high-quality maps, reports, and applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Information Systems, Environmental Science, or closely related field.
• 5+ years demonstrated GIS work experience (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of geospatial and cartographic processes and spatial projections.
• Fundamental knowledge of Esri desktop (ArcGIS Pro), ArcGIS Online, and mobile apps (Survey123, Field Maps, QuickCapture).
• Experience developing web-based mapping applications (Esri Experience Builder, Dashboards, StoryMaps) and related data forms/maps.
• Experience managing geospatial information in Esri file geodatabases.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Able to pass U.S. Government background check and be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare maps, metadata, datasets, and data collection tools for project elements.
• Develop/modify deliverables from redlines and verbal instructions.
• Analyze data to support web-based mapping apps, figures, tables, and reports.
• Provide on-site/off-site GIS support for environmental sampling and emergency response duties.
• Attend client meetings and assist with data mining from various data stores.
• Maintain documentation for data references, metadata, and analytical methods.
• Ensure deliverables align with Quality Control requirements.

Education

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Information Systems, Environmental Science, or closely related field
