Job summary
Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Remote Geotechnical Engineer to support global mining projects. You will analyze ground conditions, model stability for underground excavations, and design effective ground support, all while coordinating with remote teams to ensure safety and efficiency.
The role requires 7+ years in geotechnical engineering within mining, advanced degrees, and proficiency in FLAC, Phase2, and Rocscience software.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Geotechnical, Civil or Mining Engineering with geotechnical specialization.
- Minimum 7 years' geotechnical experience, preferably in mining.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (FLAC, Phase2, Rocscience, Slide).
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed geotechnical assessments for underground mines and surface infrastructure.
- Develop geotechnical models and stability analyses for excavations, slopes, and dumps.
- Recommend ground support, excavation design, and operation procedures.
- Review and approve geotechnical designs and monitoring plans.
- Interpret borehole data, in-situ tests, and lab results.
- Implement monitoring programs and remote collaboration with global teams.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, memos, and risk assessments.
- Stay updated with geotechnical software and mining engineering advancements.
