Job summary

cFocus Software seeks a Mid-Level Test Engineer to join our DHS program. This remote role requires a Public Trust Clearance and focuses on comprehensive testing across geospatial, web, cloud, and data-intensive apps.

You will develop risk-based tests, automate where possible, validate APIs and services, and coordinate with security teams to ensure compliance with DHS requirements. Strong collaboration and technical writing are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in IT, CS, Geography or related field.
5+ years of software/test experience with emphasis on testing web, enterprise, cloud geospatial apps.
Experience developing test plans, manuals, automation, traceability, data, and defect reports.
Functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, system, operational, security, performance, and UAT testing.
Automation experience using C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, pytest, NUnit, xUnit.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines and Agile/Scrum delivery.
Ability to validate APIs, REST services, databases, data pipelines, and cloud components.
Strong analytics, troubleshooting, technical writing and collaboration skills.
Ability to satisfy DHS suitability and security requirements.
Experience with ESRI Portal/ArcGIS Suite, dashboards, web maps, geodatabases, geospatial services.
Experience testing .NET/C#, AWS-hosted systems, REST APIs, data ingestion, and real-time solutions.
Knowledge of 508/WCAG accessibility testing and DHS security environments.
Experience with performance/load tools, API-test tools, test-management platforms, security testing.

Responsibilities

Develop risk-based test strategies, plans, schedules, and criteria for new/modified GCIS capabilities.
Derive test criteria from business, functional, technical and performance requirements.
Maintain traceability among requirements, Jira stories, acceptance criteria, tests, defects, and releases.
Identify test environments, tools, data, interfaces, risks, and stakeholder participation.
Review requirements and designs for clarity, testability, and measurable acceptance criteria.
Develop and maintain manual and automated tests for geospatial apps, dashboards, data services, and integrations.
Create reusable automated regression tests to improve coverage and release confidence.
Support ESRI APIs/SDKs, ArcGIS JavaScript, Experience Builder, Python, and REST services testing.
Develop test data covering boundary, negative, security, accessibility and performance conditions.
Maintain automation code and test assets in GitLab or DHS-approved repos.
Conduct various tests including functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, smoke, and UAT.
Verify geospatial functions: map rendering, layers, dashboards, geodatabases, and workflows.
Validate integrations with enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and identity services.
Execute tests in development, staging, preproduction, and production-support contexts.
