Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a US Remote Based Genetic Counselor Assistant to support the Genetics and Women’s Health division. The role involves assisting the lab’s Genetic Counselor team, reviewing tests, and communicating with clients across the Westborough, MA and San Francisco labs.

Strong communication and data-handling skills are essential. The position emphasizes multitasking, familiarity with genetics concepts, and experience with LIS systems, with a typical M-F schedule in the Eastern time zone

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biological Science required.
1+ year experience as Genetic Counselor Assistant preferred.
1+ year customer service experience preferred.
1+ year experience in a clinical genetics lab with NGS preferred.
1+ year LIS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support clients ordering tests at Labcorp's Westborough, MA and San Francisco labs.
Review molecular test requisitions and clarity of physician orders.
Monitor worklists and add/cancel tests for the lab.
Generate paperwork for sendout tests and track results.
Respond to inquiries from Labcorp clients and providers by phone or email.
Collect demographic/clinical information and ensure correct testing orders.
Research and troubleshoot testing issues with clients or other facilities.
Learn multiple laboratory-based computer applications.
