Job summary
Caterpillar Inc.’s Electric Power Division is seeking an engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems. You will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems on retrofit and new projects from concept through commissioning.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform risk assessments, and develop PLC/HMI applications, while training technicians and customers to ensure reliable system operation and
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience with automation and controls, PLC/HMI systems.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Identify retrofit opportunities and support proposals with Dealer and Factory teams.
- Design, program, test, and commission LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
- Convert legacy PLC programs and develop PLC/HMI applications.
- Produce wiring/assembly drawings with CAD.
- Perform risk assessments and support field performance.
- Provide technical support to sales and product teams.
- Train technicians and customers on maintenance and operation.
