Job summary

Cottingham & Butler Claims Services seeks a General Liability Claims Adjuster with construction defect exposure interest. You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims while collaborating with insureds, claimants, attorneys, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve fair outcomes.

You will handle a caseload of liability claims, gather evidence, evaluate exposure, and negotiate settlements.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of General Liability claims handling.
• Construction defect claims experience preferred.
• Ability to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve liability claims.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Effective negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of General Liability claims, including construction defect exposures.
• Investigate claims to determine liability, damages, and coverage implications.
• Gather and analyze claim documentation, reports, contracts, and supporting evidence.
• Communicate with insureds, claimants, attorneys, contractors, experts, and clients throughout the claims process.
• Evaluate claim exposure and develop appropriate resolution strategies.
• Negotiate settlements toward timely, cost-effective resolutions.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation and file management.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, licensing requirements, and client expectations.
