Job summary

Cottingham & Butler Claims Services is seeking a General Liability Claims Adjuster with construction defect experience. This remote role offers flexible 100% work-from-home options and the opportunity to investigate, negotiate, and resolve claims while collaborating with insureds, claimants, attorneys, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will have 1+ years of General Liability claims handling experience, familiarity with state regulations, strong analytical and communication

Qualifications

• 1+ years of General Liability claims handling experience.
• Construction defect experience preferred.
• Familiar with state-specific claims regulations and licensing requirements.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of General Liability claims including construction defect exposures.
• Investigate claims to determine liability, damages, and coverage implications.
• Gather and analyze claim documentation, reports, contracts, and supporting evidence.
• Communicate effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys, contractors, experts, and clients throughout the claims process.
• Evaluate claim exposure and develop appropriate resolution strategies.
• Negotiate settlements and work toward timely, cost-effective claim resolutions.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation and file management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable state regulations, licensing requirements, and client service expectations.
