Cottingham & Butler Claims Services is seeking a General Liability Claims Adjuster with construction defect experience. This 100% remote role involves handling liability claims, investigating exposure, negotiating settlements, and collaborating with insureds, attorneys, and contractors to achieve fair outcomes.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of General Liability claims handling; construction defect experience preferred.
• Familiarity with state-specific claims handling regulations and licensing requirements.
• Ability to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve liability claims.
• Strong analytical and written/verbal communication abilities.
• Effective negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of General Liability claims, including construction defect exposures.
• Investigate claims to determine liability, damages, and coverage implications.
• Gather and analyze claim documentation, reports, contracts, and supporting evidence.
• Communicate with insureds, claimants, attorneys, contractors, experts, and clients throughout the process.
• Evaluate claim exposure and develop appropriate resolution strategies.
• Negotiate settlements and work toward timely, cost-effective resolutions.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation and file management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable state regulations and client expectations.
