Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to bridge Nelnet’s GenAI delivery team and higher education/SLED clients. You will scope solutions on the Gemini Enterprise Platform and translate requirements into a delivery backlog.

This remote/hybrid role collaborates with an Engagement Manager and engineers to ensure feasible delivery, surface risks early, and maintain client alignment. The role offers remote/hybrid work with a compensation range of $140,000–$185,000.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience scoping and delivering GenAI/agentic AI solutions for enterprise or institutional clients.
• Experience with Gemini Enterprise Platform or similar GenAI delivery stack preferred; Google Cloud fluency a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud data, compute and compliance concepts used in AI solution design.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with client stakeholders and translate pain points into scoped, deliverable use cases on the Gemini Enterprise Platform.
• Build and maintain the delivery backlog and prioritize items against timelines and dependencies.
• Identify and surface technical and data compliance requirements early in the solution design process.
• Collaborate with Engagement Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure feasible delivery and clear status reporting.
