Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Data Pipeline Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines on Google Cloud for GenAI use cases. You will ingest, transform, and serve client data using BigQuery and Dataflow, optimizing for performance and cost.

You will classify and govern data with Dataplex and DLP, enforce access controls, and collaborate across GCP/Gemini teams to ensure AI readiness and compliant data delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data pipeline plus ELT/ETL for analytics or GenAI on a cloud platform.
• Experience with data governance and classification tooling.
• Strong SQL and Python for data transformation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using BigQuery and Dataflow.
• Develop ELT/ETL processes for batch ingestion into analytics data stores.
• Monitor reliability, performance, and costs of pipelines.
