Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Data Pipeline Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines on BigQuery and Dataflow for GenAI initiatives. You will ensure data is ingested, transformed, and governed with FERPA considerations in mind.

Collaborate with GCP and Gemini teams to ensure data readiness for AI solutions while supporting a hybrid work arrangement with in-office and remote options.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes for analytics or GenAI use cases on a major cloud data platform.
• Strong SQL skills and Python for pipeline development and data transformation.
• Knowledge of data governance and capability to classify sensitive data (FERPA) and enforce access controls.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using BigQuery and Dataflow for GenAI use cases.
• Ingest, transform, and serve client data with governance and compliance in mind.
