Job summary

Foundation Fighting Blindness seeks a Community Manager for the DFW region who will lead fundraising and community engagement across Houston and San Antonio. This remote role partners with volunteers, donors, and local businesses to grow revenue and awareness while sharing scientific progress in accessible ways.

Typically 75k–85k USD annually with a 5% incentive bonus and technology stipend; requires travel and evening/weekend events as needed. Reports to Regional Director with no direct reports.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of fundraising, community engagement, development, or related nonprofit work.
• Proven success meeting or growing revenue goals through individual giving, sponsorships, peer-to-peer fundraising, or events.
• Strong ability to build and sustain authentic relationships with volunteers, donors, partners, and local businesses.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out fundraising strategies that grow revenue year over year across assigned communities.
• Build and maintain relationships with volunteers, donors, local businesses, sponsors, and community partners.
• Work closely with volunteer committees to plan and execute successful fundraising events and activities.
• Partner with the Regional Director and internal teams to set priorities, milestones, and measures of success for the territory.
• Recruit, support, and motivate volunteer leaders, ensuring they feel connected and valued.
• Serve as the Foundation’s primary representative in the community and communicate scientific progress accessibly.
