Job summary

The Foundation Fighting Blindness is seeking a Development Manager to lead fundraising results, volunteer leadership, and chapter activities across Atlanta, Tampa Bay, and Jacksonville, targeting roughly $460,000 in annual fundraising revenue in year one.

This role serves as the face of the Foundation in the territory, building relationships with donors, volunteers, local businesses, sponsors, and partners, while collaborating with internal teams to expand events and community engagement.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in fundraising, community engagement, development, or related nonprofit work.
• Proven track record of meeting or growing revenue goals.
• Strong relationship-building with volunteers, donors, and partners.
• Experience recruiting and supporting volunteer leaders.
• Comfortable as a public-facing representative in local communities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out fundraising strategies to grow revenue across the three communities.
• Build and maintain relationships with volunteers, donors, businesses, sponsors, and community partners.
• Coordinate with volunteer committees to plan and execute fundraising events.
• Set priorities and measures of success with the Regional Director and internal teams.
• Recruit, support, and motivate volunteer leaders over time.
• Represent the Foundation in the community, sharing resources and explaining scientific progress.
• Track engagement and inform fundraising decisions using the donor database.
• Tailor approaches to each community's strengths and needs.
