Job summary

AllTrails is seeking a Software Engineer, Fullstack to help build and improve our outdoor exploration platform. You’ll work across the stack from AWS and Ruby on Rails to React, HTML and CSS, delivering features with performance in mind.

You’ll collaborate with a distributed team, own features end-to-end, and contribute to architecture, UI polish, and data-driven decisions. A B.S. in CS or related field and 1+ years of JS experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years experience with JavaScript and frontend frameworks like React or Angular.
• 1+ years experience with Ruby on Rails MVC pattern, routing, controllers, models, views.
• Proficient with web technologies and responsive design.
• Strong ownership and ability to communicate with stakeholders.
• Experience with databases (MySQL or equivalent).
• Familiarity with AI tools to boost productivity and creativity.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the trail data team to build features for outdoor explorers.
• Contribute to architecture and design of services.
• Design and implement web components and UI features.
• Optimize client-side and server-side code for performance.
• Work across stack from AWS/Ruby on Rails/SQL to React/HTML/CSS.
• Own features end-to-end from development to deployment and maintenance.
• Coordinate with teammates and stakeholders to refine requirements.
• Squash bugs and improve product quality.
