Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks a Full Stack Developer (MUMPS) for a 100% remote US-based role supporting VA healthcare systems. Requires MUMPS/InterSystems Cache, HL7/FHIR, and Public Trust (MBI).

Salary range $85,389-$116,975; this is a W-2 position with US citizenship requirements. You will lead testing across functional, integra tion, and UAT, develop test data, and coordinate with developers, business analysts, and end users to validate requirements and ensure quality across legacy

Qualifications

• Experience supporting healthcare, government, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience testing enterprise applications supporting clinical, benefits, or healthcare operations.
• Experience supporting legacy applications and long-lived mission-critical systems.
• Experience testing applications developed using MUMPS and/or InterSystems Cache.
• Experience validating healthcare business workflows and system functionality.
• Experience performing functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
• Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, HIPAA EDI Transactions.
• Experience validating EDI healthcare transactions (e.g., 278, 275).
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, TestRail).
• Strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support testing for mission-critical healthcare applications in MUMPS/InterSystems Cache environments.
• Support modernization efforts, system enhancements, and interoperability initiatives.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, scripts, and procedures for healthcare apps.
• Validate software enhancements, maintenance releases, defects, and upgrades.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
• Verify data integrity across legacy systems and interfaces.
• Test HL7, FHIR, EDI transactions and related standards.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and end users.
• Develop test data and environments for healthcare workflows.
• Lead testing efforts and mentor junior testers; track metrics and risks.
