Job summary

Lensrentals is seeking a Software Developer to contribute across front-end, back-end, and database layers for its e-commerce platform. You will build, test, and maintain features from tickets, and collaborate with Marketing and Digital teams to enhance the customer experience.

The role involves delivering production-quality code, participating in planning and reviews, and helping teammates with onboarding and mentoring as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Ability to independently deliver well-scoped features with limited supervision.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, etc.).
• Exposure to e-commerce or customer-facing digital experiences is a plus.
• Strong full-stack development knowledge: front-end, back-end, databases.

Responsibilities

• Develops, tests, and maintains software features across front-end, back-end, and database layers for core e-commerce systems.
• Implements well-scoped features and enhancements from tickets and technical direction.
• Builds and improves customer-facing digital experience features such as navigation, search, filters, and recommendations.
• Follows architectural patterns and raises questions when trade-offs arise.
• Participates in planning sessions, stand-ups, and retrospectives, providing estimates and status updates.
• Collaborates with Digital & Marketing stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate outcomes.
• Participates in code reviews and adheres to coding standards.
• Investigates and resolves defects and performance issues, escalating cross-system problems when needed.
• Communicates progress, blockers, and dependencies clearly.
• Pairs with junior engineers on onboarding and day-to-day questions.
• Contributes ideas to improve team processes, tools, and delivery practices.
• Maintains technical documentation per departmental standards.
