Job summary

Magellan AI is hiring an experienced full-stack developer to join our team of seven engineers to help launch a major new feature and continue enhancing our core product. The role emphasizes precise problem framing for AI agents, writing specifications, ADRs, and documentation as we scale.

You will work closely on Ruby on Rails, Postgres/ClickHouse backends, and frontend work to improve usability with Turbo/Stimulus. This is a remote-first position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Expertise with Agile web development, with practices such as TDD and Refactoring.
• Fluency working with AI coding agents day to day, or the obvious appetite for it.
• Clear writing. You will be writing specs, ADRs and documentation read by people who are not engineers.

Responsibilities

• Adding new features to our Ruby on Rails application from top-to-bottom, full stack.
• Directing AI coding agents through real work: framing the problem and its constraints, reviewing outputs, and iterating.
• Improving system quality via testing and refactoring to scale with codebase growth.
• Writing design docs, ADRs and product docs for the operations team.
