Job summary

NuScale Power, LLC is seeking a Fuels Engineer 2 to work within the Nuclear Design group. The role collaborates with Thermal Hydraulics, Code Development, and Nuclear Methods to perform fuel thermal–mechanical analyses and contribute to core design, licensing bases, and method development.

Experience in PWR physics and licensed TM methods is required. The position supports design, analysis, and cross‑functional reviews while aligning with NuScale safety culture and QA standards.

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (4-year degree).
• Experience: minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience in fuel TM analyses.
• Industry: eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810.

Responsibilities

• Build and update fuel TM models and document results in reports and calculations.
• Perform fuel TM evaluations to support design, safety analyses, and reload assessments.
• Interpret neutronics for core performance and fuel design impacts.
• Support core design, neutronics, and licensing interfaces with licensed methods.
