Job summary

SMX is seeking a Software Engineer – Front End Web Applications to design, build, and support the BAS web application. Remote role supporting a Washington, DC based customer with Public Trust clearance.

The team develops BI, planning, and analytics tools using SAC Analytics Designer. You will work on interactive UI/UX components, performance optimization, code reviews, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent job experience.
• 5 years of software engineering experience across front-end web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS).
• Knowledge of REST APIs, creating and consuming APIs, and data formats like XML and JSON.
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming/Design, Web Development and debugging.
• Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Strong programming skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship required to maintain federal clearance.
• Public Trust clearance.”

Responsibilities

• Build enterprise planning and reporting applications using SAP Analytics Cloud or other web technologies.
• Review application requirements and interface designs.
• Develop and implement highly interactive UI/UX components.
• Monitor and improve front-end performance.
• Document application changes and updates
• Provide feedback on the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Optimize web applications for scalability and speed.
