Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. is seeking an Attorney specializing in examination of title to real property to join our Energy Department. The role focuses on oil and gas title examination and drafting complex title opinions for a diverse client base.

Qualified candidates will have 3–8 years of related experience, a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, and a license to practice in IA, MN, ND, or WI (with ability to obtain ND license). Remote/hybrid options available.

Qualifications

• 3-8+ years of related legal experience
• Background in title examination; oil and gas transactions; lease, easement, or purchase agreement drafting; title and survey review
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
• Strong academic background and JD from ABA-accredited school
• Licensed to practice in IA, MN, ND, or WI with ability to obtain ND license

Responsibilities

• Examine title records and determine ownership to surface, mineral, and leasehold interests in numerous tracts
• Research and analyze unique title issues and complexities
• Draft complex title opinions for oil and gas and real estate matters
• Work on oil and gas title examination within a diverse energy practice
