Job summary

General Dynamics IT is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join NIH CIT Hosting and Storage Services Program. This role designs, automates, and delivers secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, collaborating with customers and engineers to translate requirements into effective cloud solutions.

The position emphasizes automation with Terraform and Ansible, development of standardized cloud services, and adherence to security, resiliency, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• BS/BA and 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent IT discipline.
• Experience engineering and supporting cloud or enterprise infrastructure solutions in a professional IT environment.
• Experience independently delivering well-defined technical solutions while collaborating with senior engineers on larger designs.
• Experience working with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support secure, reliable, and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions in AWS and Azure for hosting applications and data.
• Develop and enhance standardized, reusable cloud infrastructure services and automation using Terraform, Ansible, and related technologies.
• Configure and integrate cloud compute, storage, database, identity, networking, security, monitoring, backup, and related services.
• Develop and support automation and CI/CD capabilities that streamline provisioning and deployments.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, OS, automation, hosting, and cloud integration issues to drive resolution.
• Maintain technical documentation, diagrams, procedures, and security/compliance artifacts.
• Participate in Agile activities, design discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
