Job summary

Council on Strategic Risks is seeking a Program and Community Manager to sustain and grow the Center for Climate and Security. You will lead program operations, engage funders, and support a small, dynamic team at the intersection of climate and security policy.

The role requires independent work, strong project management, and excellent stakeholder communications, with a strong preference for Washington, D.C. based candidates and a largely remote work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Good problem-solving ability and sound judgment.
• Basic knowledge of foreign policy and/or security policy, and climate change issues.
• Team-player mentality with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with funder engagement and financial management (grants, budgeting, reporting).
• Ability to thrive in a flexible, largely remote working environment.
• Location in Washington, D.C. strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Sullivan Climate and Ecological Security Fellowship program, including recruitment and mentoring coordination.
• Proactively develop and manage the Climate Security Working Group, Advisory Board, and Non-Resident Fellows, with scheduling and follow-up.
• Manage stakeholder engagement and convenings for CCS projects, including communications and relationship building.
• Develop and manage a publications and events calendar across CCS projects, coordinating with authors and editors.
