Job summary

Sunstone Strategies seeks a Program Manager to independently execute media and client strategies across climate campaigns. Reporting to a Program Director, you will own day-to-day client relationships and manage defined scopes, while mentoring junior staff.

You will draft messaging, coordinate earned media, monitor policy developments, and collaborate with digital and design teams to support paid media and collateral production, in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• More than 4 years of experience in communications, public relations, and/or campaigning related to climate change.
• Strong understanding of federal and state climate policy and media landscape.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to manage multiple campaigns.
• Ability to build relationships with coalitions and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with team members and partner organizations to develop and implement joint communications strategies and tactics across multiple issue campaigns.
• Draft and edit reports and collateral including press releases, talking points, op-eds, fact sheets, and website copy.
• Coordinate earned media and press outreach; draft and lead proactive and rapid response efforts; cultivate media relationships.
• Manage coalition and partner relationships; mentor junior staff; report progress to clients and funders.
• Collaborate with digital and design teams to support paid media; produce print and digital collateral; draft social toolkits.
• Draft messaging materials and briefing documents; monitor policy developments and media trends.
