Gofractional is seeking a Fractional General Counsel to oversee legal, regulatory, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions from a remote US base. This independent contractor role supports executive leadership and coordinates with outside counsel on strategic projects.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in corporate, employment, and compliance, with multi-state experience and a track record in governance and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar license in good standing.
• 7+ years of corporate, employment, compliance, or general counsel experience.
• Experience serving as in-house, outside, or fractional General Counsel.
• Experience supporting multi-state business operations.

Responsibilities

• Advise on multi-state expansion and registrations.
• Draft and manage employment and HR policies; advise on state employment law.
• Provide corporate and regulatory compliance guidance to leadership.
• Coordinate with CFO on state tax registrations and related filings.
• Review vendor contracts and standardize legal templates.
