Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer in the Electronic Warfare Division to support circuit board and FPGA firmware design work with a multi-disciplined team. The role involves high-speed digital designs, HDL-based development, and integration of RF sensor systems.

The candidate will contribute to design, simulation, integration, test, and verification for state-of-the-art FPGA and SoC implementations, including Xilinx and Intel platforms, with opportunities for telecommuting depending on

Qualifications

  • Ability to be granted a security clearance.
  • Experience with FPGA integrated design and simulation tools (Xilinx Vivado/Vitis, ModelSim).
  • Experience with schematic entry and PCB layout tools (Altium, KiCad, Cadence Allegro/OrCad).
  • Experience with hardware integration, test and debug tools.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in schematic design and BOM generation for higher-speed digital and mix-signal circuit card designs.
  • Analyze, design, simulate, and implement algorithms in hardware descriptor languages, HDL (VHDL, Verilog), based on customer requirements and/or model(s).
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team to design and integrate FPGA designs and RF sensor systems.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team to design and integrate DSP applications for SoC implementations such as AMD/Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+, Intel Agilex, and AMD/Xilinx RFSoC.
  • Analyze, design, simulate, and implement HDL test benches in HDL (VHDL, Verilog) for code validation and validation against models.
