Job summary

Emergence Software seeks an analytical FP&A/Strategic Finance professional to build detailed operating models that drive decision-making across portfolio companies. You will design standardized reporting and KPI dashboards, own quarterly forecasts, and work with accounting on data quality and revenue recognition.

The role requires US time-zone overlap, strong Excel/Sheets skills, and familiarity with SaaS metrics. Remote, international collaboration is core to this team.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in FP&A, Strategic Finance, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or analytical finance roles.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets: build models from scratch, link sheets, dynamic assumptions.
• Strong accounting and finance fundamentals: accrual vs cash, P&L and balance sheet, working capital, revenue recognition.
• Ability to overlap meaningfully with U.S. time zones (EST/CST) for weekly meetings.

Responsibilities

• Build detailed operating models (revenue, retention, pricing, headcount, cash flow) as the single source of truth for portfolio companies.
• Design standardized financial reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and budget-versus-actuals analyses.
• Own quarterly forecasting cadence: collect inputs, reconcile actuals, stress-test assumptions, present findings to executives and investors.
• Diagnose and fix data quality issues at the root (chart of accounts, revenue recognition, timing gaps).
• Identify and repair gaps in inherited models and data pipelines.
