Job summary

World Food Programme seeks a DOTS (Foundry) Technical Engineering Lead on a regular consultancy contract. The role centers on designing, implementing, and optimizing engineering services for WFP Foundry across HQ and field offices.

You will anchor the development team, enforce best practices, and drive long-term platform health. Responsibilities include architecture design, release coordination, and governance alignment, with a focus on data management, ETL, and stakeholder liaison.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in CS/CE/IS or related field.
• 6+ years software development experience, 4+ years with Palantir Foundry, 2+ years in senior role.
• 4+ years data and analytics project experience.
• 4+ years Python/PySpark/Java/C# (mandatory).
• 4+ years leading and mentoring technical teams (desirable).
• Experience with data integration/analytics tools (Alteryx, Talend, SAP Hana, Tableau).
• Fluent English; intermediate second UN language advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and review WFP Foundry architecture and pipeline structure.
• Approve budgets for developer resources and maintenance.
• Monitor health checks and performance; assess upstream/downstream impacts.
• Lead release processes with developers and release manager liaison.
• Define ready criteria and optimize governance for DOTS workflows.
• Mentor developers and conduct regular performance reviews.
