Job summary

Snout is seeking a remote, U.S. based Founding Data Engineer. You will inherit a functioning Postgres DB and dbt analytics warehouse, and turn it into a solid, documented foundation.

You will reconcile data lineage across multiple PIMS and practice-management systems, extend the warehouse, and harden pipelines to enable fast, reliable analysis. You’ll influence stakeholders and eventually build a data team.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building and maintaining production data systems.
• Deep SQL and PostgreSQL experience.
• Strong dbt and dimensional data-modeling in production.
• Experience reconciling data from multiple source systems.
• Ability to communicate recommendations with cost justifications.
• Willingness to be the first data hire and build foundational systems.

Responsibilities

• Map data landscape end-to-end and document it for accessibility.
• Reconcile data from multiple source systems into conformed models.
• Own and extend the dbt warehouse and improve tests and docs.
• Own ingestion pipelines and the warehouse rebuild for reliability.
• Ensure clean, well-modeled data flows to internal tools and LLM tooling.
• Work with stakeholders across GTM, CX, finance and product to map questions to builds.
• Set up and support the data analyst hired next.
