Job summary

Make-A-Wish America is seeking a Manager, Foundation Relations to identify, research, and qualify foundation opportunities nationwide. You will map relationships and prioritize prospects to expand institutional giving both nationally and within chapters.

You will dedicate time to researching family foundations, develop strategies for large private foundations, and support chapters in local funding opportunities, leveraging data-driven fundraising practices.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience conducting philanthropic, donor, and institutional prospect research.
• Strong understanding of family foundations, private foundations, and institutional philanthropy.
• Ability to analyze complex foundation giving patterns and identify strategic funding opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for presenting research findings and recommendations.
• Experience with fundraising databases and CRM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Researches, identifies, and qualifies family foundations with national funding priorities.
• Develops and maintains strategic profiles, funding histories, leadership info, and philanthropic interests.
• Monitors foundation trends and opportunities to inform strategy and pipeline development.
• Conducts landscape analysis to identify new opportunities within priority sectors.
• Partners with national teams to evaluate and prioritize prospects for cultivation and solicitation.
• Maintains prospect records in Salesforce and research platforms and tracks movement through stages.
