Job summary

Vital Farms is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead quality programs across GMPs, HACCP, allergen control, and SQF compliance. You will supervise hourly crew, manage audits, and coordinate testing for finished products and ingredients.

You will report to the Food Safety & Quality Manager and partner with leadership to maintain product integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Quality and Manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GMPs and food safety practices.
• HACCP certification and PCQI certification preferred.
• Allergen Control training and SQF Systems training preferred.
• Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 118 for shell eggs and egg products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement quality programs (GMPs, HACCP, allergen control) to ensure compliance.
• Develop and maintain SQF system documentation and procedures.
• Supervise hourly quality crew, including payroll, assignments, evaluations, and coaching.
• Conduct facility walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness, sanitary compliance, and record keeping.
• Audit raw materials, packaging, and finished goods for compliance with specs.
• Coordinate testing results and release/hold programs for materials and products.
• Oversee On Hold program and destruction of rejected products.
• Investigate quality issues and customer complaints with cross-functional teams.
• Lead sanitation programs and ensure adherence to SOPs and cleaning schedules.
• Mentor crew and drive continuous improvement in quality and sanitation.
