Job summary

Vaco is hiring a Senior Staff Accountant to join a fast-paced finance team supporting e-commerce and retail operations. The role focuses on daily and month-end accounting, inventory and COGS, AP, and financial reporting, with exposure to multiple sales channels including Amazon and Shopify.

Location is remote within Florida; compensation ranges $80-$95k annually. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8-5, with opportunities to contribute to internal controls and process improvements in a growing consumer-brand

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in CPG, consumer products, e-commerce, retail, or inventory-based business preferred.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and COGS.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily and monthly accounting activities across Amazon, Shopify, retail, wholesale, and other sales channels.
• Perform inventory and COGS accounting, including reconciliations and related journal entries.
• Reconcile Amazon, Shopify, payment processors, bank accounts, and credit cards.
• Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices, payment tracking, and reconciliations.
• Support month-end close process and post journal entries, accruals, and prepaid schedules.
• Maintain accurate accounting records across high transaction volumes and multiple data sources.
• Assist with sales tax reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Aid retail and wholesale accounting, including deductions, chargebacks, allowances, and reconciliations.
• Help improve accounting processes and internal controls as the organization grows.
• Partner with finance leadership on financial reporting and audits.
